Boys Kissing by Cass – short break while Risiko moves!
Hey friends! I’m moving this week, and haven’t had as much time to work on the next page as I hoped. So this week I’m sharing this beautiful piece of the boys that Cass drew for me! You might recognize their work from Something Like Summer, but they’re working on a new comic as well called Dead Water Club. It’s awesome and intense, and beautifully illustrated! Go check it out if you haven’t yet!
Next post: (Sept 4) Alex tells Kaz all his dirty thoughts.

Hi Risiko, I just wanted to tell you that I recently discovered this comic and I just LOVE IT. The characters are so lovely, and even MORE together! you’re just an amazing storyteller, all just feels so natural between them. I am a little like Kaz, I guess, a cis gay guy who is into male identities (sorry I am not very fluent with english yet and still dont very used to the whole terminology). I read you wanted more stories like this one, and I totally agree! That why Im tryting to put my little help here with my own story, which is in fact a book-story, not a comic one, but same, I still hope I contributes a little with the cause, hehe
Can wait to read more about your guys! 😀
Hey, awesome! Thank you so much! It’s great to hear you’re loving the comic. Let me know where you’re publishing your story – I’d love to read it too!
Well, course I’ll gonna tell you!
My guys are pretty like yours, two young guys, one cis, one trans, who also fall in love. But the setting is tottaly different. My guys live in a world half the way between Game of Thrones and Harry Potter. It is a medieval world full of magic, my cis guy is a mage who is really good with magics but totally sucks in fighting. My trans guy it is a totally fighter who sucks with magics. Haha they pretty much complement each other quite well. Oh, and they are not just a gay couple, but an interracial too (one is a human, the other an elf) and the cis guy is also and arm-amputee, guess they represent a little of many minorities haha.
Oh boy, sorry for that long monologue. I just… don’t have many people with to talk about this. No-one of my current friends are into this kind of stories, sadly. So it is so refreshing to telling someone! Thanks for reading, I am reading yourse by sure!
That sounds super cool! I definitely think people will love your story. It’s tough not having friends who are into writing. Have you thought about joining a writing group, either online or in person? Having other writer friends I can bounce ideas off of has been really helpful for me.
Oh, you misunderstand me, but that was my bad. I have lots of friends who are into writing. What I mean is I have no friends who are into stories involving trans characters. Or even queer characters at all… thats the sad part of my story, haha.
And no, I haven considered join those kind of groups, mostly because I, uh… totally unfamiliar with that… culture is the word? I mean the online culture about booking. Idk dude, I am a little social-awkward but hey, I remeber comparing myself a little with Kaz Kovar, so you have me there.
I would try what you suggest. Ahmm, if its not much to ask, can you point me to some of those groups? You seems a lot more into the thing than me hehe, It would be nice to have some guide in the matter. Thanks for all, and keep drawing this amazing story, I will keep my eye on it While I’m still writing mine. When I’m going to publish it I’ll give you the link in a comment. <3
Ah, I gotcha. That’s a shame! I’m sorry your friends aren’t into those kinds of stories or that they can’t relate. Unfortunately, I haven’t joined any online writing groups or anything either, so I’m not sure which direction to point you – I have a couple friends who are writers that I talk over plot with, as well as a few trans friends that I discuss trans related topics/dialogue/etc. with, to make sure everything comes off the way I would like it to.
I will say that once I put my comic out there, I ended up meeting a lot of new people and making new friends, and I suspect the same will happen when you share yours! I look forward to reading it!
