Page transcript:
Kaz: What’s wrong?
Joe: What’s wrong?! What the fuck is this?
My brother’s a fucking faggot!
Just wait until I tell Dad about this!
Dad’s gonna beat your ass when he finds out!

Dad can shut up.
If Dad tries to beat him Dad can eat aggravated assault charges and a crippling lawsuit
Also I wanna add, Joe’s acting like he’s dad’s favorite “just wait till I tell dad” little boy sit down im sure your dad despise all of you especially you joe
Good point, Dad didn’t seem like he wanted to humor Joe leaving on Christmas to see his girlfriend.
All true but Kaz does need to behave like an adult. He’s their son but not their child. Confront them with the truth or cut them out. Otherwise he’s just treating them like a bank he owes money to, not fellow adults.
Agreed – personally I think this could’ve been handled better with a phone call, instead of an awkward trip that’s prolonging the inevitable. But some people need to learn the hard way.
Man joe needs to find a corner to go cry and mind his business ugh. And YES KAZ PACK IT UP AND GO F THESES PEOPLE. Ain’t nobody worried about dad and his beer belly tf his kids don’t even like him
Your comics and work are so cool
Thank you!
I have to say I am finding this chapter difficult. Kaz isn’t demonstrating my favourite personality traits here and while his brother is an asshole… Kaz is an adult and not really behaving like one. Don’t get me wrong, the writing is good and Kaz’s behaviour is very believable (sadly) but he isn’t impressing me. Looking forward to seeing some stones!
It is a difficult chapter for sure, and I agree, Kaz could’ve sat his family down and been honest with them before now. Coming out is never really an easy thing to do though, especially if you struggle with anxiety. I remember coming out to my mom as trans in my mid 20s and she started yelling at me, so I just got up and left. Sometimes if someone is being aggressive with you, the best thing to do is remove yourself from the situation.
