Like Kaz and Alex, there are still people in my life who don’t know that I’m trans and gay. I like to think most of the important people know. But there are some that I don’t have the energy or courage to tell. Sometimes you really don’t know how to say it.

Next post: (May 1) Kaz tells Alex about the game that inspired his move to Starlight City.

Page transcript:
Alex: Does your family support you?
Kaz: They… They don’t even know I’m gay.
Alex: Oh.
Kaz: I don’t think they’d take it well if they knew. Especially my dad. My whole family is Catholic, and they don’t really understand people like us. It was better for me to get away from it, but I still feel bad for not telling them. I don’t practice anymore, but I still have the guilt complex.
Alex: Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. My mom’s Cuban and my dad’s Italian, so I was raised Catholic too. But it never fit for me. I wasn’t ever really religious. I still haven’t told my abuela and abuelo about my transition. Sometimes you just… don’t know how to tell people.
