Sorry for the delay on this one! With this, chapter 9 comes to an end. Kaz had some heavy feelings in this chapter, and we find out a little more about inner thoughts he hadn’t yet shared with Alex.
I don’t have a start date set for chapter 10 yet. To complicate matters somewhat, my boyfriend and I are planning to move to Chicago when our lease is up at the end of August. I’ve been in Atlanta for a long time, and while it’s not a bad city, I want to see other places, and I want to live in a state that can give both of us more legal protection.
Chapter 10 will be a beast of a chapter (planning on 50+ pages), so my plan is to complete 20 pages of it, start those running, and get the next 20 done. There may be some delays with updates for this one because of that. In ch. 10, Kaz goes home to Ohio for Christmas and faces his family. There will be ups and downs. Strap in for some more drama.
Tentatively, I would like to start chapter 10 in motion at the beginning of September. I don’t want to wait that long, but we’ll see how much progress I make on storyboards and inks/colors. So far, only the script is written for this chapter. I’ll post updates here on how progress is going.
I’m going to take a little time off and focus on a mini comic about Kaz when he first moved to Starlight City. It’ll show how he met Rahul and Jordan, and include a sexy hookup he has with another guy at one of Exit 104 (Rahul’s band)’s shows. For now, it’ll be only on Patreon, but it will run on here eventually as filler.
Next post: Early September-ish.

i just finished this comic(and i found it at someone’s suggestion list in reddit btw)and… it’s FANTASTIC I LOVE IT!! can’t wait for the next chapter. it’s a really cool comic… one of the best, really! just wanted to say thank you!🫶🏽
I’m glad you’re enjoying it so far! Thank you for reading it!!
hi risiko, hope you’ve been doing good 🙂
kinda random, but i just wanted to nerd out about depeche mode. i have listened to everything by them up to violator. even listened to some early demos of stuff. not really sure how to listen to stuff like songs of faith and devotion, like they just kind of sound off?
i don’t think i could pick a favorite studio album, but if i had to, i’d choose construction time again, black celebration and speak & spell. i found the weakest albums to be a broken frame and music for the masses, but that doesn’t mean they’re bad. maybe i’m just used to the 101 versions that songs like blasphemous rumors just sound strange to me? i’m not sure.
i wish i had more music like speak & spell, like sure i listened to yazoo like you reccomended, which WAS good. i do crave more though. i don’t think that album gets talked about enough. another random thing: martin gore dresses so cool i’m obsessed with it
they’re just like a really gay band which is nice because i like gay music. half of their songs are about kinky sex and the other about politics and love and shit. i’m pretty sure behind the wheel is about pegging 😭 but knowing them i can’t be so sure.
they’re just my favourite artist right now. they’re really something special and i want to thank you for kinda introducing them to me.
also, i liked this chapter, it was more personal and stuff. kinda relatable too. look after yourself, as usual 🙂
Hey Alex! Good to hear from you!
Depeche Mode is awesome – I’m glad you’ve been enjoying them so much! I’d say probably Some Great Reward and Black Celebration are my faves, but I like Construction Time Again and Music for the Masses too. By Violator, it sounded a little too polished and I feel like it was the same for sure with Songs of Faith and Devotion. Alan Wilder left the band shortly after that, so the later albums sound different because he did a lot of their production work in the studio. Martin Gore originally wanted to make Enjoy the Silence a slower, dirge-like song, and Alan convinced him to make it more upbeat, which really makes the song I think.
Did you check out Erasure? Vince Clarke was in that band as well with Andy Bell. Andy Bell was out as gay, so if you’re looking for gay synth-pop, Erasure is it haha. None of the members of Depeche Mode were gay, though I have wondered if Martin Gore was bi. He’s only been married to women and I’ve never heard him say he was, but he definitely was gender non-conforming in how he dressed particularly in the earlier DM days. I think Behind the Wheel was about BDSM/femdom, but what that entails, idk haha. I know they had some trouble getting Master and Servant on the air because an older, more conservative guy was the director at the radio station where they were pitching it. They waited until he went on vacation and pitched it to another station exec and she agreed with them that it’s a song about love and life and put it on the air lol.
I hope things are going well for you! Things are good for me, just crazy with the move. We head out today to drive to Chicago. It’ll be good to get back to art soon.
