Chapter 8 – Page 225
The bases Rahul is talking about are the Nike missile bases. There were a bunch built throughout the U.S., mostly near urban centers to defend them in case of attack. All have been decommissioned and most have been repurposed into other things, but there are still a few existing abandoned sites that some have been lucky enough to explore.

Page transcript:
Alex: This place is really out in the sticks, huh?
Rahul: There used to be a bunch of bases just like this one. They were all built in the 1950s to protect against Soviet attack.
Needless to say, it was never used… I wanted to scout it out as a potential music video location.
Jordan: Hey guys, I think we’re here.
I love this series, it is so close to the actual real life relationship that im in. I’m a gay guy with blonde hair, dating a trans gay guy with black hair, with a half foot height difference between us. it is weirdly similar
I love that! Art imitates life, or does life imitate art? 😉
There’s a Nike base near my uncle’s house in Connecticut. They made it into a community park
Very cool! I love that several of the former bases have been turned into parks. The one this is based on is out in Washington state, and last I heard, it was still there.
